Much less than expected A review of La Quinta Inn Miami Airport North
Stayed at La Quinta Airport North February 2005 before and after a great cruise on Royal Carribean Voyager of the Seas. Poor way to start the holiday and a poor ending to a great holiday. $20-$35 cab ride anywhere in town (aiport, sea port, Bayside, Downtown), car alarms going continually all night and when we were waiting for our cab on the last night we were able to watch several "commercial transactions" between people hanging around the entry way to the hotel and dealers driving by. One positive was the hotel security guard. He made sure that he was between us and the other groups at all times. We had a room for four, we were supplied with one towel. Toilets werent' working either so we asked for another room or an upgrade. We were moved but the only upgrade was they supplied 3 towels for 4 people (toilet still didn't work).
When we approached staff about some of the problems, (also had problems with getting transportation) the clerk held up her hands and said "It's not my fault". We weren't looking for blame we were just looking for some solutions. We also found out, after getting off the ship at 10:00 AM that check in was not until 3:00 PM. There was no secure place to store baggage (they stack it beside the main entry). The late check in is not the hotels fault if that is their standard policy, for that mix up I blame my travel agent (won't use her again as she fouled up several other matters as well) I will not stay at this location again, and I will definitely be very careful about using the La Quinta chain again.
