Moved out after one night! A review of Petit Ermitage
A terrible experience in a run-down joint with consistently bad service. Checked in at 3 pm, got a smoking room (had requested nonsmoking and QUIET room), and the room faced a busy intersection with stop signs. Their SINGLE pane windows allowed heavy traffic noise all night long. Room: Distinctive cream-coloured stains on the carpet, a foul musty smell in hallways and room. Beat-up furniture. Local calls a brutal rip-off: 95 cents PER MINUTE (I watched a guest complain at reception for being charged 400 USD for local internet dial-up during his stay). This place has obviously never seen any renovation within the last 20 years, and it shows on everything. ROOM SERVICE: Don´t even try it. Ordered breakfast at 7.15 am, was told it takes 20-30 minutes. Left at 8.20 am for a great Mexican place just down the street and a superb breakfast sandwich after my order was never delivered. Answer to complaint: The cook (they only seem to have one) is very busy. Checked out and shortened my stay. Front desk was understaffed and friendly, but slow, basically useless and seemingly overwhelmed by requests and complaints. They pride themselves with acccomodating the rich and famous, but I bet any Hollywood celebrity would leave in a hurry. In fact, their main clientel are gays that frequent the neighborhood bars to "party".
Pay 30 or 40 dollars more and move to the
Sofitel (what I did) or a place that deserves the word "hotel".
