Mixed emotions A review of Bell Channel Inn
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Bell Channel Inn as part of our vacation package in early September. The hotel has a few things going for and against it. The staff was nice enough, though I wouldn't say exceptional. The rooms are spacious but it lacks some of the amenities standard to many hotels such as a clock, coffee maker, iron etc. We had a refrigerator but no microwave, water pressure was terrible. The air conditioner was also loud and not nearly as cold as we like. The Inn is located near the marina and the rooms overlook the channel, nice, but it sometimes smell. The pool was always empty but it is tiny. It is within walking distance from the port which has shops, restaurants (from French - Lucianos to Dominoes pizzza_ live entertainment on the weekends during the day. However at night there is very little lighting so a taxi maybe necesary ($5 to the port or back). It is close to the jitney bus which would take you to most places on the island. The hotel's Tour person Genie will give you your first Bahama Mama drink for free, she will also give you discounts on tours, best thing is there's no sales pressure which was nice.
