Mediocre at best A review of Ramada Plaza Minneapolis

This hotel is a real dichotomy: friendly and helpful staff at every turn, but the facility itself is in need of repair. The hallway carpets are stained and frayed, the lampshades, carpets and bedspreads are worn and spotted. The ironing board was rusted and I never could get it to retract. Bed was okay, but what's with those oversize decorative pillows? Nice for TV viewing, but not for sleeping. Disappointed my T.V. had no cable, guess I'm spoiled from staying at Marriotts. The location is odd, but not bad. At least there is a 24 hour gas/convenience store directly across the street. And the hotel did say they had an on-demand shuttle, but it's probably best you have your own car. And like everyone else before me I had an issue with the noise. The walls are so thin I could hear the people sneeze in the room next to me. And the hallway noise was unbelievable. I think it is a weekend thing - there were tons of young people staying here (maybe because of cheap weekend rates). It is probably a different story during the weekdays when it is all business travelers.
