True, the Downtown Nashville Doubletree Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. However, as any hotel employee can attest, the average hotel guest can be difficult, petty, mean, combative, and insulting. The Doubletree has rather low rates compared to many other downtown Nashville hotels. As a result, it gets a clientele that would be better suited for a Motel 6. When these guests check in, they immediately consider themselves to be royalty, and demand to be treated as such. Anyone who hesitates to bow down and acknowledge their clearly superior status is subject to their wrath. Many business travellers do not operate under the belief that checking into a hotel suddenly elevates you to Supreme Being status, and thank God for them. They will always be welcomed. As for the other demographic - maybe you should consider other options. Not everyone will choose to buy into your selfish fantasy.
