Many good qualities A review of Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown/Convention Center
We just returned from a 3 day stay at the Crown Plaza in Austin. While this is an older hotel, I felt it had many good points. It is in a good location right off 6th street at I-35. The rooms are large and although a bit worn, they have very good mattresses, pillows and comforters. The beds were also double sheeted which I really appreciate. Our room was very quiet and we had a terrific view of the capitol. My favorite part of the hotel is the restaurant. The Rooftop Dining room provides a lovely spot to eat and enjoy the city. The food was good and the prices reasonable for a city hotel. Finally, I had the best experience I have ever had with room service. We arrived home one evening tired and hungry around 8:00 p.m. We ordered from room service and our meal was delivered in around 20 minutes! It was hot and delicious and very much appreciated. Parking was $15.00 per night, but that is certainly within reason for a downtown hotel. Also, all personnel were very friendly and helpful. Look for special rates and enjoy a night at the Crown Plaza.
