Luxury in Eureka A review of Carter House Inns
My sister and I had the good fortune of finding the Carter Hotel while traveling through the coastal redwoods of Northern California. After a day spent enjoying the art galleries and Victorian architecture of Eureka, we spotted the Carter Hotel from the marina. The staff was very accommodating in this incredibly romantic hotel. The intimate lobby and spacious rooms are filled with exceptional, original art. Our room facing the bay was filled with antique pine furniture, fireplace, and elevated whirlpool tub. And this was just the start of our stay. We enjoyed delightful conversationLuxury and tasty nibbles with fellow travelers in front of a splendid roaring wood fireplace. Then the most incredible dinner of the year. We were offered the choice of ala carte or prix fix menus. We decided on the prix fix (referred to as a discovery menu) option and enjoyed a five course meal with wine pairings with our appetizer, soup, entrée and dessert.
