Lucky their the only show in town A review of Ojai Valley Inn and Spa
My husband and I attend a seminar twice a year in Ojai and need to stay overnight - or we wouldn't bother with this place until they get their act together. I arrived first and was escorted by a very nice bellman to a 'suite' that had two double (not queen) beds. I call the front because I specifically asked for a king and she said I had requested two doubles and they were completely sold out of rooms (both better and worse). I don't remember ever being THAT mad at my husband and felt sleeping in separate beds would put a damper on our love life. She eventually found us a great fireplace room with a king which was $200 a night less! So, the girl who initialy took my reservations did not tell me the significant increase in rates (400 to 600 is a LOT for a place to put your head), and that the suite was only a suite because it needed to be large enough for the second double bed - She also called me Linda, which is not my name. The food was AWFUL. There is no chef and the food is 'corporate" prepared by cooks. Go to Suzannes if you want taste. We will continue to spend our hard earned dollars there because there is no alternative, but I cannot believe that someone would go there as a destination. Bitter..Bitter.
