Lovin the Akcent Hotel! A review of Akcent Hotel Prague
I have just returned home from a 5-day trip to Prague. I didn't know what to expect as I had never been to an Eastern European Country before, but I had the best time. From the airport to the hotel it is a 20 min car journey and should cost no more than 650Kc's. The hotel itself is in a small residential/business town called Smichov, and at first we thought that we were out of the way of everything when we looked at the map, but looks can be deceiving! The nearest metro station (Andel) is right outside the hotel, and so is the bus station (We didnot hear any noise at all) and for approx 14 czech crowns, it will take you into the main part called Mustek in about 5 minutes. The metro's are clean, efficient and fast (much better than the ones in Newcastle!) From there you can pretty much walk to the main attractions i/e Charles Bridge, the old town and the astronlogical clock. You could walk there from the hotel, if you are pretty fit and the weather is nice, it took about 25 mins, but there are loads of nice bars and cafes along the way. The hotel itself, is clean, and has a minimal style to it. The staff were lovely, and told us where to get off the metro. Our room was a decent size and the bathroom was spotless! It even had a mini bar, which didn't cost the earth! In Smichov itself there is a shopping centre where you can find all kinds of shops and bars, and feel like one of the locals too. I would definately go to Prague again, but maybe for a long weekend as 5 days was a tad too long.
