Lovely! A review of Victorian Inn
My parents and I stayed at the Victorian Inn July 9th in the Viola McBride room. The room with it's pastel blue and cream interior made us feel as if we were in an authentic Victorian bedroom. We met the owners of the inn during the daily wine, cheese, and sausage meeting by the fireplace and found them very friendly and hospitable. They offered to help us find a restaurant in the area by calling for a reservation and told us about their experience during the making of The Majestic. The Jim Carrey film was shot almost entirely in Ferndale. We ended up dining at Curleys, the onsite restaurant where we had a lovely dinner. There is also a nice jewelry store on the premises with lots of unique and beautiful pieces. Had I had a little more disposable income during this trip I probably would have bought something.
On Sunday morning we had a truly delicious breakfast with a casserole/frittata like egg, cheese, sausage (and grits or bread?) entree plus fruit, granola, bagels, toast and of course juice and coffee. My tastes are a bit discriminating so I had to mention the breakfast. Delicious! I think I may have to email the inn for the recipe!
Overall, we highly recommend this endearing Victorian inn if you're planning on staying in Ferndale.
