Loved the wine country A review of Vino Bello Resort
We visited the Napa Valley Oct. 4 - 8. As regulars to Napa we normally stay at the Marriott but when we saw the Vino Bello and saw the rates ($119 for a studio thanks to Expedia) we jumped on the chance to stay there considering the Marriott was going to $299 a night. Yes, it is about 8 miles or 10 min. to downtown Napa but we are the type that once we leave the room in the morning we don't return again until later in the day after we've visited the wineries. For the extra 10 min. it was completely worth it! The studio was GORGEOUS - the whole resort is beautiful mind you. Yes, it is in an industrial park but so what??? Once on the resort grounds you don't even pay attention to that. The pools don't face the industrial park and once they are completely finished the resort will be amazing.
Our studio was equipped with a king bed, sleep sofa, table and 2 chairs, huge marble and ceramic bathroom, flat screen TV, fridge, toaster oven, and mircowave and coffeepot. You have a small "kitchen" area but the cabinets are equipped with plates, utensil, etc. We even got a complimentary bottle of wine and water and soda our entire stay.
The restaurant on property had a limited but very good menu. WE ate breakfast one day and the service was very slow but we were waiting out the drizzle so we didn't mind. The bar area was very busy every day and the onion, pesto, gorgonzola pizza was to die for!
Everyone working there was very accomodating and helpful. They even have a shuttle service to downtown Napa which we used when we went there for dinner one evening.
If you like chardonnay and pinot noir, Patz & Hall winery is just around the corner from the resort and it was fantastic! THe tasting is pricey but worth every penny and the fee is waived if you buy their wine.
