Loved the Ukraina A review of Radisson Royal Moscow
We stayed at this hotel in June for 4 nights. The location is ok, you could be closer to the centre, but for the price this hotel is a good bet. Russian hotels are not cheap, especially in the summer. So the price for this hotel was pretty good. The rooms are large but look like they haven't been updated for a while. If you like this kind of thing it's fine. Although it's clean, the shower in the bathroom has very low low water pressure and there is no air conditioning. Again this might be different in some of the more renovated rooms. Breakfast was, standard buffet affair. The tube is a good 10 mins away and you have to cross some very dodgy roads, the drivers in Russia don't really care too much about the pedestrians. But the location is good, only 4 stops from the Kremlin and other tourist sights.
The staff don't speak English very well but if you use enough pointing they'll eventually understand what you mean. There is a TV in the room with 2 English channels BBC News and CNN.
Getting there from the airport is a scarey 50min taxi ride, which will set you back 50Euros. You can get the tube but it'll take you about an hour and a half so only for the really organised.
Overall I definitely recommend this hotel for the price and for those people who are coming to Moscow to see the city, if you are planning huge amounts of time in the hotel, then you might want to spend more money and get something more western.
