Loved the hotsl, hated the staff A review of Marriott Grand Residence Club Tahoe
We were so excited to visit the resort for our anniversary this year. But the excitement ended the instant we drove up to the resort. They are in the middle of some HUGE construction on a new wing (or something). When we arrived, we asked the front desk if our room was away from the construction. Turned out it wasn't. So, we asked for another room and ended up with a "lake view" room that actually overlooked the main street (if you stood on your tip-toes you could just see the lake). The timeshare salespeople would not leave us alone, even calling our room to see if we could come down for breakfast. When we checked out, there were a few strange charges - when we asked what they were, we were told they were taxes. When we questioned them a bit more, the front desk clerk said they must be other charges we incurred and simply ran the credit card on file. This "resort" tries too hard to be a big resort in an area where most things are smaller. The rooms weren't even that nice.
