Loved the Dragonfly A review of Dragonfly Ranch - Healing Arts Center
The Dragonfly Ranch is a special and unique place of soul. It offers the true Hawaiian tradition of Aloha, along with a variety of healing arts options -- simple relaxation, fresh natural food (mostly grown in the garden or purchased from local organic sources), yoga, flower essences, lomilomi (a form of Hawaiian massage) and so on. It has, as advertised, a Robinson Crusoe feel, like being in a treehouse, and gorgeous well-maintained, but still somewhat wild, tropical grounds.
Guests are treated with genuine warmth. The food is lovingly prepared and served in fun communal style. For owner Barbara Moore, a long-term practioner of various healing arts, operating the Dragonfly for more than 20 years is a labor of love she takes seriously, and joyfully.
Barbara is ever gracious and a wealth of knowlege about the island and health. I found her helpful and respectful of my interests. The location is excellent, south of Kona on the road to the City of Refuge where there's great snorkeling, and close to Kealekekua Bay where you can often swim with the dolphins. My experience is that the rustic aspects of the Dragonfly are part of its charm, a true get-away that speaks to the heart and truly can be a healing retreat.
