Loved it !!! A review of Clarion Hotel Prague Old Town
Just back from Prague and have to say WE LOVED IT!!!
We were a bit on the cautious side after reading some reviews about pickpockets, people asking for your passports, money etc to verify them, we did not experience anything like this? Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.
We got an airport taxi direct from the airport to our hotel for 650kc an arranged cost at the airport before aggreeing to the journey, all above board as it would be at any international airport, the taxi driver was very pleasant and welcomed us to Prague, pointing out places of interest along the way, the journey took approx 20mins.
We stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Praha 1 area (Hradebni) which we could not fault, views of the castle across the river from our hotel room window!
10mins walking distance from Charles bridge, passing the astronomical clock en route, approx 15mins to Wenceslas Sq (If you don't stop off for a hot wine or two on the way!!)
We booked the accomadation through ------------ and the flights through --------------.
We visited Red Hot Blues in Jakubska Praha 1, eating in the winter garden area under patio heating listening to live jazz, two meals and drinks approx £500kc (£13).
We also found an excellent Italian just around the corner off of Rybna, just along from 'our local 'Bonanza' 2 for 1 cocktails 3-6pm!!
After crossing the Charles bridge we were in need of a light refreshment, we found a cafe just on the right hand side which comes highly recommended for a snack and a beer/hot wine!
Keep to the quieter streets for cheaper food and drink, beer anything from 35kc upwards.
Lots of places to stop off for drinks, snacks etc.
We'll definately be returning although possibly at a warmer time, very very cold and that was with a sunny clear blue sky!!
