Loved it!!! A review of Hotel Viking
My husband and I stayed at The Viking in March 2004. Our off-season package included 2 nights in our choice of rooms - historical (older) or a new room in a brand new wing. We chose an historical room.
The woman I spoke with when making the reservation was awesome - so friendly and helpful. She told me the room we chose was smaller than the newer ones so we weren't surprised - the room was quite small-no problem for us. We found it very nice. High quality bedding, very clean, very romantic.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. We ate dinner and brunch at the resturaunt- both were awesome. The pool was beautiful and clean. The workout room was also very good - current machines and a fridge stocked with bottled water (included). Oh, yes, even a bowl of fresh fruit for you to help yourself to.
We ordered drinks by the pool and we received them promptly.
We were looking for a nice place to get away for a romantic weekend. A place we didn't have to leave to get dinner or a drink or even breakfast if we didn't want to. (We did walk downtown- nice walk). And the Viking was perfect. I knew it would be a great weekend when, upon arrival, we pulled up to the front of the hotel and before we stopped the car the valet was out the door and standing there waiting to open our doors and take our bags.
I would definately recommend the Hotel Viking for an off-season romantic get-away and will most certainly return next year.
