Loved it! A review of Golden Well (U Zlate Studne)

A couple of recent reviews of this hotel read more like the work of an over-eager hotel p.r. person than that of a recent hotel guest but I have no quibble with any of the content. I stayed here for 3 nights in mid-September in a jr. suite on the 3rd floor with a tremendous view and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is superb because it's close to the castle and the Charles Bridge but away from the direct footpath of the masses of tourists. The room was of nice size with hardwood floors and a fantastic whirlpool tub. Breakfast was nice though not elaborate.

To mention a couple of other points regarding location, this hotel is very convenient to both the subway and the metro should you want to access any areas of the city not easily accessible by foot (the zoo, Vinohrady, train station). This hotel is also equidistant to the Charles Bridge and another bridge leading to the stunning philharmonic facility and the historic jewish quarters.

I really enjoyed the small size and coziness of this hotel. I suppose the downside to the size is that there isn't always a staff person around when you want one. Indeed, one evening the only staff person on duty was finally located sitting on the terrace watching a fireworks display. That hardly spoiled my stay though.

I would recommend this hotel for couples or for business. (Wireless internet access is included.)
