Love at first sight A review of Palace Road Hotel Prague
We recently returned from short break in Prague (19-23 April), a christmas gift to my husband and myself from our children. They had booked the Castle Steps apartments and so because we have had less than favourable results with other hotels booked sight unseen we were understandably apprehensive. But what a pleasure, from the young man who met us at the airport and whisked us in what seemed to be minutes to the front door of our apartment block, to the young woman who was waiting to book us in and show us our accomodation, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were delighted with the facilities. We stayed in the Sycamore apartment, it should be noted that the room itself is very basic but incredible value for money and breakfast is included (vegan). The room contained teamaking facilities and a small fridge, no cooking facilities which did not matter very much as we like to sample the local cusine. Our room was also onsuite and contained a shower, no bath.
The room was also very clean and the pot plants were a lovely touch.
The apartments are in the area below the castle, on a very pretty street but it is very steep and may cause problems to those with mobility issues. There is a very good metro and tram system but we never had cause to use them. Everything you would wish to see is within walking distance.
The only problem we found with the accomodation was noise. We were disturbed by other guests coming home late at night and also found it a little unsettling that we could follow our neighbours conversations as though they were in the same room.
Would we go back? Yes !! noise aside, the apartments are so well situated and Prague is such a beautiful city , that all in all we would love to return and would have no hesitation in booking Castle Steps again
