Lost It's Charm A review of Doubletree Hotel Omaha - Downtown
This hotel has been left to the dogs. I'm surprised Hilton Hotels, who bought out the Doubletrees, allows this to happen. The hotel was remodeled and cleaned up about 5 years ago. We have stayed there a number of times since the remodel and totally enjoyed it. It used to be super clean and nice with good service. We had not stayed there for about one year and then we stayed there on February 15, 16th 2005. The place was absolutely gross. The pool was filthy and had alot of mold and slim growing on the deck and was loaded to the max with chlorine. The sauna was run down also. The rooms were filthy. The bath was only wiped down in the middle and the sides of the vanity were still dirty. The carpets in the room had a ton of dirt built up around the edges like they only vacuumed the middle of the room. Mold was growing on the tile grout in the bathroom shower. We watched the maid clean and she just used the towels you left on the floor to wipe down the toilet and sink area. Totally gross. The buffet was still good. The door man chased you around and gave you dirty looks because we did not want them to carry our three bags to and from our room. The place used to be first class, but is now low class. The newer Hilton at the Q West Center is sweet and better to stay in.
