Lodging Fit For A President! A review of Quality Inn Gettysburg Motor Lodge
No, Lincoln didn't sleep here but I did! The Quality Inn Motor Lodge certainly does live up to its name - quality! This place is great - location is not to be beat. Besides being next to the Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor Center (actually, it's about a 5-10 minute walk up a decent incline), it's within walking distance of a myriad of historic homes, restaurants, gift shops, museums, etc. etc. but since it's at the end of Steinweher Ave., it does not get as much pedestrian sidewalk traffice as do the other hotels on this street. The room accommodations were right up to par - no complaints! Housekeeping was right on target, replenishing everything that needed to be replaced and keeping the room rather spotless. The Victorian Breakfast Cottage offered very tasty foods for its continental breakfast even though it appears that the same varieties of foods are offered every morning. Parking spaces are reserved - one per room - and thus you always park near your room. I had a second floor room with a terrific view of the pool and museum across the street. They even provide two outdoor chairs per room for sitting and enjoying the view. Reservations which had been made 51 weeks in advance were honored and found, and although the room wasn't ready when we arrived at the hotel, it was ready as promised ... within an hour. I'd stay here each and every visit, as long as I actually could get a reservation here - that's the only problem, it's very popular. So while I'm not Lincoln, I did feel quite presidential at this QI!
