Lobby service was awful - not the westin standard A review of Westin Annapolis
I live in the local area and I had some friends stay there for Labor Day weekend. At the end of the day we went back to the Westin to enjoy the nice bar in the lobby. Such a shame because the bartender was awful. I sent a glass of wine back the first time, he then wouldn't open a new bottle and pushed me to something else that was also terrible. I cannot believe that a hotel of this caliber would hire a bartender who would keep old half bottles of wine and then push them to his customers. Not to mention he insulted me in saying that I had been drinking all day and didn't know what good wine should taste like. I laughed off his comment however, it was extremely rude. I didn't drink the second wine and I regret that it was paid for by my friends. The bartender also refused to serve my friend a cup of coffee and she had to go through the restaurant next door to get it. The restaurant was more than happy to help us out and their service was more than adequate. I wish I would have asked this bartender his name because he needs a serious lesson in hospitality. This hotel also had such a sad depressing feel for a holiday weekend. They had lifetime movie network on TV and would not change it to something, anything more upbeat. This new hotel could be a fantastic community asset however they need to train their staff properly on customer service. The Annapolis Westin hotel is a far cry from the Westin standards and is just taking advantage of being one of the few large hotels in the local area.
