Like new- Nice surprise ! A review of Manhattan Beach Marriott

OK, I have never been much of a fan of Marriott. BUT, I now have a new appreciation. I stayed at the San Diego Marriott a few months ago and it was great so we tried this one. Nice choice. The only drawback is proximity to beach. 1 mile or so over a big hill from the beach. Cannot smell, hear or feel the ocean. But it is really nice on it's own.

The Manhattan Beach Marriott, has been recently remodeled. The parking garage is old, but when you get in your room it is new, clean and really nice!

The lobby is dated, the staff is pleasant and speedy but not out of their way or over friendly. Stood in line cause they were understaffed on a Friday afternoon. But once we got up to the counter it was quick. On numerous trips down to the pool, or the restaurant or out to Valet we did see a line each time. Seems to be seriously understaffed at the front desk.

The rooms are average size, but comfortable. Paid $10 more for a balcony golf course view. Well worth it. The furniture is new and stylish. The bathrooms have marble or some stone from floor to ceiling and are beautiful and large.

Restaurants are close and way too much good stuff to choose from. Houston's, Il Forniao and Cozy mels, not to mention McCormick & Schmicks. All right there!
