Like Going Home A review of Simpsons of Potts Point Hotel
I used to live in the street nearby this small but delicious hotel and on recent trip back to Sydney decided to stay there. The welcome was warm and friendly. The lounge area on the ground floor had deep-buttoned large sofas, books to read about Australia past and present, an email facility in the far corner for guests, and genial chat was to be had to the bewitching hours between 5 and 7.30pm as people drifted in from a long day's touring. the location is great - the Macleay Street Bistro just a short walk away, still brilliant after all these years.
Brekkie was a friendly affair, and fresh fruits were in abundance. Our room was quiet, and more than adequate. I would recommend this to anyone not familiar with Sydney because you can easily go anywhere from this safe location.
