LaQuinta is worth every penny A review of La Quinta Inn & Suites Galveston Seawall West
We stayed at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites for 3 days during June for a quick vacation. The service was great - the hotel was very clean and well taken care of. With a ten-month old baby, we needed a hotel with a big room, refrigerator, and microwave. We had a king executive room that was really big and overlooked the pool area. We got the room for $65 a night through a special discount, but I would have paid more.
The pool was very clean - I saw the staff checking the chlorine levels each morning and you could see the ocean while swimming in the pool. The airport is right behind the hotel, but I only heard the planes when I was out on the balcony.
They have underground parking and carts to take your luggage up the elevator. My only complaints were the continental breakfast - the food was great, but not much variety. The waffles were yummy, but the only other things were pastries, cereal, and toast. It was well-stocked and always lots of food, even when the breakfast area was crowded. Also, there is no beach across the hotel. We found this out the hard way after running across, toting our baby and all of our beach gear. However, it's just as easy to drive to one of the many beaches. There is not a lot of stuff around the hotel, but everything is a quick drive. There is also a movie theater so close you could walk to it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
