Labor day Weekend at the Villa Roma A review of Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center
Spent the 2004 Laborday Weekend at the Villa Roma. I was there exactly 5 years ago and they have since upgraded in a few areas. My wife and 5 yr old reserved a deluxe room in the main hotel. If you reserve a 1 bedroom suite, yo uwill have a longer walk from the lobby. Our room was comfortable and has been renovated from the last time we were here. The bathrooms are definately better. The kiddie pool with the water slide is new and the water was heated so that was great considering the mild summer we have had in NY.
The Golf Course was great, no problems with getting a tee time for the early morning and the $50 green fee, with a cart, was a bargin compared to the quality of the course vs. what you get on L.I..
Must recommend going to Paintball, $30 for the gun, 200 rounds of ammo, mask and a camaflouge jumpsuit. You're out there for 2 1/2 hrs. It was my first time and enjoyed it very much.
The food was the best! Ate so much I thought I was going to explode! Our servers, "Michelle and Sean", were very good and patient. My only complaint is that since I missed breakfast for one morning because I went golfing, I was not allowed to use the meal voucher at the poolside grill. To save money, I would recommend bringing drinks to the pool area. They allow coolers so you can pack sodas and/or beers, this way you can avoid paying $2.50 for a 12 oz draft beer. Other than that I had a very nice time and would recommend this place for families looking for a quick get away.
