Just the Job A review of Holiday Inn Express Nashville Downtown
After travelling from Atlanta Airport this was our first destination on a tour of the Deep South.
We had booked this hotel online and made certain specifications (high floor, King Size Bed, etc) all of which were honoured.
We arrived at approximately 1.30am, tired after our flight and drive and were met by a friendly lady on reception and a Security Guard - both were extremely friendly and checking in was simple and pain free, most welcome after our travelling ordeal.
Our room was clean and uncluttered and faced onto the side road so was extremely quiet. Some rooms faced onto the main road into Nashville and I would imagine that they could get rather noisy when traffic is at its' peak although I've no experience of this. Shower and bathroom facilities were clean and there was no lack of hot water and clean towels.
Breakfast was a serve yourself continental affair with bagels, cream cheese, cereal, etc and as much coffee as you could drink - the breakfast room was large and if you didn't want to congregate around one of the 2 large TV's tables were easily found.
Free Internet Access was also available in the lobby of the hotel for boisterous emails to friends and family telling them what you got up to last night!
Walking into the hub of Nashville was ever so slightly hilly but easily manageable and was approximately 1/2 a mile away, certainly not an onerous task, 10 minutes saw us drinking in one of the many bars on Main Street. The Country Music Hall of Fame was a 15 minute stroll and The Coliseum (Home Of the Titans) is a 20-25 minute meander over the River.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown for 4 nights and I would heartily recommend it. It's an affordable option, a good base to explore Nashville's many delights and one that I certainly would use again.
