Just returned from the RI in Sandestin A review of Residence Inn Sandestin at Grand Boulevard

I just returned from a two night stay at the Residence Inn in Sandestin. The hotel just opened on April 25. I literally checked in 3 hours after they opened. I was traveling on business and believe this would be a great choice for anyone on business. I had a one bedroom suite which included a full kitchen and sitting room and a separate bedroom with bath. Since I was the first person to stay in this room, it was spotless and a wonderful experience. The king size bed was comfortable with six pillows. I especially appreciated the fact that the bed was double sheeted and had a comforter, not one of those foam blankets you get sometimes. My only complaint about the room was that my windows overlooked a busy highway. If you are a light sleeper, you will be bothered by the traffic noise especially when trucks and motorcycles and emergency vehicles go by. The entire back of this hotel is right up against this highway. The manager told me they used sound proof windows, but the noise did bother me. I would suggest you request a room not facing the highway. The staff was still on a learning curve but they all were very helpful and polite. They offer breakfast in the morning and cocktails and snacks in the afternoon. Breakfast is substantial with eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, toast/bagels, yogurt and fruit. The RI also has a small (but nice) fitness room with two treadmills, a stationary bike and a weight set. It has a very small outdoor pool which I did not have time to use, but looked nice, although very small. In the lobby they have a business library which has a computer and printer, table and chairs and sofa and T.V. This hotel is not near the beach or the bay. If you want a view of the water, or to be near the beach, you want to stay somewhere else. They have a tram system in Sandestin which will take you to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Overall, I think this is a great choice for business travelers and I would stay here again.
