Just Have Your Own Transportation...Otherwise, A Good Value A review of Super 8 Austin Airport, South

Since we were not familiar with the Austin area this hotel seemed to have what we needed. We just needed a one night stay and a shuttle to the airport. Upon arriving the desk person was friendly. The advertising from the hotel site stated 24-hour shuttle service but when we checked in asked for a shuttle to return us to the hotel after dropping off our rental car. The hotel was only about 2 miles away. She informed us that all shuttle service had to be scheduled in advance. When telling her it was in advance of a few hours she said there was no shuttle available. So, instead of returning our rental car to the airport and saving a day's rental charge we had to keep it for another night to drive ourselves back to the airport in the morning. After adding up what a cab would have cost, it was not worth the hassle. They say they will pick you up from the airport and return you there but it was not so for us. The room was comfortable but very noisy from neighboring rooms. There was a snoring man next door that vibrated through the walls. You could hear the people walking in the rooms one floor up clearly. Nice shower and a good supply of towels and pillows. A coffee maker was supplied as well as the necessary toiletries. The air conditioner worked well. They serve a continental type breakfast starting at 6am but we skipped that. There were several other hotels we saw that looked closer to the airport and one right on the airport property. That will be our next visit.
