Just Fine Place to Stay in Nice Beach Town A review of Quality Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach
My husband and I stayed here for two nights during a get-away to the LA area. Yes, it's a non descript chain motel off a big commercial street near a strip mall. But in a few minutes walk (6 blocks to the beach, just enough to feel like you got a little exercise), we were on Pier Street and the beach (made it just in time for the great sunset). The place is clean and the price was right. Also, our room was quite large--it had a couch, so I guess it was a suite. The continental breakfast was also fine (but remember to get up and eat by 9:30 am!).
We were in the back so we didn't hear any street noise. My only complaint is that they spray the room with a very strong smelling deodorizer. Next time we go, I'm going to call ahead and see whether they can hold back on the stuff. A little about the surrounding area: Hermosa Beach is a nice little town--makes you feel like you're not in the middle of a metropolis. Friendly people and little perceptible smog. We ate two good and very reasonably priced meals in walking distance from Quality Inn: First, Fritto Misto--a neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food was good with huge portions and exceptional service. Second, Paradise Sushi--cute funky beach decor and, best of all, at happy hour, sushi is discounted. The sushi was just fine! After blowing a bunch of money on a trendy (but phenomenal) restaurant in West LA, it was nice to relax for a couple of days in this nice beach town and eat at two inexpensive and good local restaurants.
Once again, thank you for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back.
