Jailhouse rocks! A review of The Liberty Hotel

We arrived a couple of days after opening so while service was still a work in progress, we were wowed by the old jailhouse atrium now the location of check-in and a small cocktail bar. Our room wasn't ready so we had lunch at the Clink restaurant. The speciality 'hot stone cooking' at your table was a bit of a challenge after a long haul flight but our scallops and sweet potato fries were delicious.

Our room was spacious and we loved the slate bathroom with Molton Brown freebies despite some plumbing problems (we were the 1st to stay in the room). One caveat when booking a room is that the hotel is right by the general hospital. Our 1st room overlooked the hospital's aircon units, we were moved to a room with a view of the huge 'Eye and Ear Hospital' sign and ER entrance but settled on another room with a view of the out patient dept. Not very romantic!

15 minute transfer from Logan Airport and easy walk down Charles Street to enjoy the Common and Back Bay so good location.
