It's ok, but no great destination hotel. A review of Renaissance Long Beach Hotel
I travel for business, so I stay at many hotels. This time, I thought, since I'm new in Long Beach, I'd stay at a more upscale establishment. Great location, but an average place to stay. The staff was friendly and received the concierge level, so I got access to a happy hour and free breakfast. I liked the breakfast. I did not go to the happy hour. The room was nicely decorated, but you can tell it's an older hotel. The walls were thin and, unfortunately, I could hear TOO MUCH, if you know what I mean. Not the best place for a quiet sleep. In addition, I felt like I was on the first floor, with all the traffic noise on Beach Blvd. Excuse me, but this is the 11th floor. What's up? Parking is nine bucks, so that doesn't help, but I guess it's typical in that area. I ate at a seafood restaurant down the street. Very average. I also found the area to be dirty with many strange homeless types walking around. It's just a wacky area. Similar to San Fran. I'd look at another hotel in the area to stay. At $160, this place is not worth it.
