It's not what we expected A review of Four Points by Sheraton Cocoa Beach
My husband and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. While the room decor is attractive, surfing pictures, surf board lamps etc., the suites are a disappointment. First of all the rooms are not separated with a door that closes so the bedroom and the living room have only a half wall separating them. This was a real problem for us as my husband likes to stay up late and either watch tv or read a book and couldn't do either as I wanted to go to bed and sleep. The television is opposite the dividing wall so the person in the bed cannot watch the tv properly at the same time as the person in the living room. It's just very ergonomically badly designed.
I tried to sleep while my husband read in the bathroom but the air conditioning compressor was so loud that every time it kicked in, it was very annoying and I couldn't get to sleep at all. This is a brand new hotel so I was expecting a much quieter a/c system. My husband came to bed and I just lay there tossing and turning and listening to the noise of the a/c!
At 4:30 a.m. I went downstairs and asked the front desk clerk if he could comp me a room just for a few hours to get some sleep (since I am Gold SPG member) and he said he couldn't do that. I went into the computer room and spent the next hour searching on line for another hotel to move to that night and eventually found an awesome Residence Inn on Cape Canaveral. I sat on the second floor of the hotel until morning in a chair stairing into space as I couldn't go back to my room and read a book or watch tv or I would have woken up my husband. I couldn't sit in reception because some weird guy was lying on the couch sleeping....no clue who he was.
Also in the morning, we tried to have breakfast at the Shark Pit Grill restaurant but after sitting and being ignored for 10 minutes, we gave up and went to McDonalds.
The hotel is not up to par with normal Starwood properties in my opinion.
