It's Hershey, what do you expect A review of SpringHill Suites Hershey
It's beyond me why Marriot doesn't put a full service hotel in the area for idiots like me who will pay for it. We've been going to Hershey for 6 years now and have never found a hotel we would stay in twice. Hotel Hershey is way to stuffy for my kids, and everything else is like being packed into a sardine can. The Hershey Lodge made us get two rooms because we have 3 kids plus me & my wife. That was a small fortune to say the least, and for 2 star accomodations.
The Spring Hill Suites was very clean but no frills. It ran us about $230 a night but we checked out a day early because it rained and cabin fever kicked on within minutes. The room are not suites by any stretch of the imagination. The layout is insane and the air-conditioner blows directly on the bed which is push up against the unit. I dunno, we slept five in the room but it was crammed. It is about 1 1/2 miles from the park so the location was good. Don't get excited about the continental breakfast, you would think it was the line at a soup kitchen. We ended up at Bob Evans every morning. (Explain this, IHOP went out of business last year!)
If I had to return to Hershey, I probably wouldn't stay here, but it isn't the hotels fault. They give you what they say they are giving you - 2 1/2 star accomadations with a postage stamp for a pool. You won't find much better in Hershey which is why I gave it an above average rating when compared to the hotels we've stayed in the past.
