It was OK. I still smell like chlorine A review of Hyatt Morristown
I went to the Headquarters Plaza hotel for a wedding in June. First off, the location of the hotel is weird in of itself. It is located in Morristown, a small town, and is located in the Headquarters Plaza, naturally.
The lobby was nice, but there were people smoking in it. The furniture was dated. The front desk staff was nice, and the parking was free and in a nice lot underneath the hotel. We were given a room on one of the top floors- the same floor as the "CEO Lounge."
Our room was very large- had a King size bed and a sofa. The rooms were a little dated, as is the hotel- I am assuming they will be updated when the hotel turns into the Hyatt this fall- that is what is plastered on their website. Anyway, there was a safe in the room, which malfunctioned twice while we were there, but security came up to help pretty quickly.
The pool and fitness room was located in a weird area, in a building next door next to a movie theater. The pool was absolutely never swam in since the 1970s. There was a film over the pool and it was about 100 degrees and smelled like chlorine. All of the pool accessories were in bad shape and could be replaced. The hot tub was also over chlroinated. Needless to say that I smelled like chlorine for hours after the pool.
I do have to say that the hotel did a great job on the wedding- the ballroom was nice and the food was decent. Great brunch.
Overall, a decent hotel. Weird area. Smell like chlorine and smoke.
