It has spoiled me! A review of Embassy Suites Hotel Portland-Airport

I was taking my daughter school shopping and decided to stay at the Embassy Suites instead of the Oxford Suites (also nice hotel) this time. The downtown location would have been better because of it's close proximity to Lloyd's Center but it is more expensive. The lobby is nice and pleasing to the eyes. The clerk was very helpful. I asked for a room with a nice view and was given one on the 8th floor. Very nice! The rooms were clean and very spacious. It's nice having two televisions for our different tastes in shows. The house-keeping services were up to standard. I asked for and received additional towels (I gave her a tip) and they weren't stingy with the toiletries. It was a bit of a walk from my room to the elevators (a hassle with luggage) but I did ask for a room with a nice view, so I can't complain. The only on-site restaurant had horrible food and there was a bug IN my daughter's pizza, but I don't want to reflect that on the hotel. My only other complaint is that I was charged for the bottled water in my room and we did not drink it. I explained to the management that we do not like the taste of bottled water and he was kind enough to remove the $4.00 charge from my bill. All in all, it was a great hotel and I look forward to going back again this August.
