Incredible! A review of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
I played Bandon Dunes for the first time Wednesday 8/4/04, our tee time was 11:10. We had breakfast in the lodge and I must say that I am not an omlette man but theirs was excellent. I am not a good golfer (28 handicap) and was a bit worried. But I had taken a lesson before we played and happened to be driving like never before. Our caddie was John the Baptist and I don't think we could have asked for a better one. If you play ask for him, I found that he saved me at least 10 strokes. I don't remember three putting all day and I can attribute that to The Baptists reads. The course was absolutely beautiful, the greens were very firm but deceptive to read and not as fast as you might think. I drove the ball like I never had before and may have even beaten my personal best (96) but the devils a--hole and other bunkers made sure I was in triple digits. The two gentleman that we played with had pull carts and seemed to be having a little trouble on some of the stairs (get a caddie). The wind was not that strong on this day but I understand that it usually is. It is fairly tough to walk, we were told about 7 miles. Bottom line phenomenal experience.
