Incomparable Hospitality, Perfect Business Destination A review of Hyatt Regency Sacramento

My husband I returned from a five day business stay at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento and could not have been more pleased with our hotel. We had read the less than glowing reviews and were a bit leery, but it was a superb experience. We were greeted warmly and given every request that we had made. Our room key had the term "Perfect Stay" on it and going up the elevator, we openly wondered what that would mean after so many mediocre reviews. Our first experience was in the room selection. It was perfect. The view was gorgeous and the room was well appointed and clean and seemed to have been remodeled in the not too distant past. The hotel has all of the business amenities that we needed from wireless internet at a nominal charge to a complete business center. The fitness center is in the hotel with indirect access, but very easily accessible from the entrance. The location is right across from the Capitol and the view of the Capitol, the thousands of trees, and of the city lights made coming back to the room a pleasure.

The first night we went to the Hard Rock Sacramento which is several blocks from the hotel for dinner. The area is neither the best nor the safest and the next night we opted for the hotel dining room, Dawson's. We were delighted at the fine service and high quality dining experience. After feeling somewhat unsafe going out for dinner, we chose to dine nightly in the hotel restaurant. We were greeted by name and had the same terrific service each night as we did the first night. Our server, Joel, was friendly and helpful and contributed to our overall pleasant experience, as did the rest of the staff. As for hospitality, it was abundantly evident. Each and every employee greeted us and frequently asked if all was going well and if there was anything that she/he could do to help us. After reading the previous reviews we were astounded that the reviewers stayed at the same hotel as we did. A tip for those who read tripadvisor- if you find negative reviews for a hotel that seemingly should be getting great reviews, call and talk to the manager. You will find out a wealth of information about the hotel. If, after making your expectations clear, they are not met, then there is a problem that is beyond the traveler's ability to arrange for a Perfect Stay. As for the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, give it a chance and you will not be disappointed.
