If you like LOUD MUSIC 16 hours a day, STAY HERE A review of The Tamarind Club
Do not consider staying at the Tamarind Club if you are seek quiet countryside, the sound of chirping birds or afternoon siestas. This place plays LOUD music 14 or 16 hours a day, emanating from the bar area which adjoins the pool and all the rooms that surround it. (On the other hand, if you want to listen to Peter Tosh and the Gypsy Kings and old pop hits played at Force 9 all day and night, you will love the ambience) Unless you shut down your windows and doors tight, and crank the small air conditioning unit in your room, you don't have a shot at eliminating the noise. We had the misfortune of staying in the Honeymoon Suite located a few yards behind the bar the night the local entertainment set up their speaker the size of a refrigerator, and even with our room shut down tight and the a.c. blaring, the music was loud enough to shake our bed and our bones. The management was adamant about their right to play music at such hideous high volumes until after midnight; They gave me a pair of foam ear plugs! Had we been able to find another room nearby, we would have been outta there really fast.
