I would have paid the same price for a hammock. A review of Crater Lake Lodge
Bring the biggest memory card your camera will take because this place is beautiful, inside and out. For the first five minutes after we arrived in July I was disappointed in the size of our room. We had two double beds with a two tiny sets of windows overlookingthe lake, but they were dormer windows and no one in my family could walk the length of the room standing up straight. But pretty soon all four of us were scrunched up in the dormers trying to look out at the pristine beauty all around the lodge. Our room was very clean and all the staff we dealt with were very nice. The restaurant was not as pricey as it could have been considering the lack of nearby competition. Being on the end of the floor we heard very, very little noise from our neighbors. The porch with rocking chairs was so quaint and just perfect for taking in blue water and the clouds and to people watch. They have a great room with a huge fireplace and lots of chairs and sofas in which to lounge while they serve you drinks and appetizers. We stayed in nine hotels this trip and this was the most expensive, but certainly the most scenic and unique. It was worth the money.
