I've seen better dorm rooms A review of Castlegate Bed & Breakfast Inn
I was looking for a value-priced B&B in Toronto and the website promised what I was looking for. But I would have done much better staying at a Motel 6!!!
Tasteful furniture but lacking in basics you expect in even the most budget-minded hotel: no alarm clock, no bathroom mirror, no luggage rack, no towel bars in the bathroom, no rubber mat in the tub, and only one roll of toilet paper. Mildewed tile grout, bathroom ceiling spotty and looked to be covered in nicotine sludge, only one lock on the door, etc. Their "tasty continental breakfast" consisted of bad coffee and muffins from Costco. There was maid service, but you had to pay EXTRA and was not informed until after I had checked in. Plus, if you needed something, calling the office was almost impossible. After 5:00 pm an answering service that wasn't on site took messages. Never again!
