I'd rather sleep on the beach A review of Oxford Suites Pismo Beach
Overall, I would say that the Oxford suites are semi decent. This hotel is perfect for budget minded large families and Older people (50+) who desire a low key location. Breakfast was great, wake up really early, other wise the line is out the door and the sitting area is rather small. The evening reception was pleasant too. Staff served nachos, salsa, light dinner (macaroni and cheese, pasta, salad). The Bartender could have attempted to be somewhat more likable, but what she lack in personality she made up for with her bartending skills. She can make a killer strawberry margarita. Accomodations were adequate. Large living room and bedrooms, 2 televisions. Don't take too long of a shower, after 10 mins, the water turns scalding hot. The sinks, toilet and shower drain have the tendency to back up as well. Housekeeping lack communication with lobby staff. They knocked on our door 4 times a day, unaware that the room was occupied. The pool is very small, had about 6 kids with snorkeling gear the majority of the time. The jacuzzi also had it's share of snorkelors. This hotel is ok as last minute choice, but COUPLEs with no children, I suggest sleeping on the beach. You will get more peace, because this hotel is very very active with children and pets.
