Hyatt Light, Looks Great, but not for couples. A review of Hyatt Regency Dearborn
Stayed at the Hyatt this past Saturday night after attending a nearby wedding. We were looking for a nice romantic room., but once in the room it spelled business travellers room.
Decor was nice, tasteful and functional, but lacked any personality. Colors and patterns were definately set up for males as they were cold and bold. (and I'm a guy).
Room was quite large, but most of the space was wasted open area, nice desk and no table. Bathroom was tiny. there was an extra sink, however the coffe maker took up most of that. Bed was very comfortable. We had intended to have breakfast sent to the room, but realized nowhere to eat except desk with one arm chair and one high back executive chair.
Few comments: Despite having to fill in all information on online reservation, front desk clerk had to go through it all again. Perhaps she was just confiming, but the way she was putting the information in the system, I don't think so.
ROOM NEEDS SOUNDPROOFING. You can hear people in the hall, every toilet that fluses for half the building. Showers from who knows where and an alarm clock in an apparently unoccupied room went off at 6:16 and beeped for fifteen minutes. I am a very heavy sleeper, normally, but this was a little too much.
Usually we stay at the Ritz Carlton up the street, but we thought we wouldtry Hyatt this time. Unless on a business budget, spend the extra $40 and fo up the street.
