Hurricane Refugee Weekend A review of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Atlanta - Buckhead
I normally like to stay at 5 star hotels, but because of the short notice and evacuations from Hurricane Dennis we decided to stay at the Doubletree (we booked at priceline for $80/night). I thought the room was very warm and comforting. It was right in the heart of Buckhead near the Lenox Mall, a movie theatre, restaurants, and night clubs. Most places were convenient by car, but the theatre, a couple restaurants, and the mall are accessible by foot. We had a blast driving around and finding neat restaurants and shops. We loved Fat Matt's Ribs-they serve BBQ and have live Jazz music. We also enjoyed Imperial Fezz in Mid-town, this Moroccan themed restaurant features authentic dishes, atmosphere, and nightly belly dancers. We went shopping at both malls, but preferred the little shops that lined Peachtree. We also watched two movies at the theatre next to the hotel. The theatre is a watch and dine theatre. They have a menu, bar, and wait staff...nothing like movies, wine, and service!
