My husband and I had booked our rooms on line and pre paid for either a room with two double beds or a king size bed. From the outside and in the Lobby the hotel looks very nice. The hotel had overbooked due to a cheerleading competition. There was one working elevator. We were given a room with one double bed. The room was very tiny. We went to the front desk as this was not what we had paid for and were told they did not have to honor our reservation. They had one girl running the desk and at least 50 people complaining. As for our room it was very dark and while it appeared clean was in desperate need of updating. Our room had wallpaper that was peeling off of the walls, we heard some complain of stains on the curtains. We checked out within an hour of arriving due to the terrible service and not getting what we paid for. The hotel offered to let us purchase a cot for an additional $10. I did not really check the room out but heard some complaints of dirty bathrooms, lack of towels. We checked with some people next day who had stayed there and were told the hotel was so confused by the amount of people they had staying there they were calling and knocking on doors at 1am to find out who was in what room. Another couple who also had prepaid were told they would be taken out by security because the hotel could not find proof of their payment this was at 11 at night. We did try to eat breakfast at the Clarion because its buffet was $8 compared to the $16 at the Intercontinental we were staying at. The food did not look good..the eggs were runny and the bacon dried out we opeted to eat at the Hyatt. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that are much nicer and have similar pricing. Intercontinental was beautifully decorated, they were well staffed for the traffic they had for the weekend and the staff was very professional..The hotel was twice as much but worth it.
