Hotel Salvator - Nice and central! A review of Hotel Salvator

This hotel is 5 minutes stroll from the Old Town Square and 10 minutes from Wenscelas Square...the first being the much better of the two places.

The hotel is very quaint and pretty and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The staff helpful and informative about the area and speak good English, although do try to learn a few words of Czech as they do appreciate it....I was the only one in my group that tried (Dobre den!!).

TIP#1 is to book your taxi with the hotel..and not pay the 850 Kronas we paid in a small skoda to the hotel...the hotel charges 550 Kronas to/from the hotel in a top of the range spacious Skoda!

TIP#2 Walk around the side streets where you can find loads of shops/bars selling their products alot cheaper than on the squares themselves....and I mean literally a few metres away in some cases; and then when you've had your fill of beer and good wholsesome food grab a chair at one of the cafes in the square under the outside heaters and watch the world go by.

TIP#3 The waiters tend to take your empty glass/plate away as soon as you have finished and ask you if u want another even if others are eating/drinking...making you feel as though you should. Do what I did and leave a little beer in your glass and they leave you alone until you are ready for another yourself!

TIP#4 Wear layers of clothes, the wind chill makes it icy cold outside this time of year..but the rooms/bars are very warm so you need to be able to undress to stay comfortable.

TIP#5 Check out the beer prices as you walk in, as some bars charge anything from 100 Kronos plus (£2+) for a beer whilst others charge 30/40 Kronos (£75p/£1)...these cheaper bars have more atmosphere and are not usually overwhelmed by too many tourists...hunt them out!!!!!!!

In general the prices of goods are not as cheap as they used to be but that is the price you pay for Prague's popularity...so would I go again...DEFINITELY! 90 minutes from Stansted, £75pp return on average and a beautiful town with loads of history.

This isn't just a place for stags either...we went as two couples for a birthday bash and found the place built for couples and groups. ENJOY! Parm' xx
