Hotel Review A review of Hilton Alexandria Old Town
The Alexandria Old Town Hilton is a well-appointed, new hotel in a very convenient location, just a few blocks easy walk from Old Town Alexandria and directly across the street from the Metro Station. The decor is elegant, the rooms very comfortable, and the rates reasonable. My husband and I stayed there over Christmas while visiting relatives. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and exercise room, although the hours are limited to late afternoon and evening.
The hotel is new and still has some rough edges to smooth out. We had plumbing problems with a toilet that continued to clog, although the staff was immediately responsive to the problem. The aroma of perfume in the lobby and elevators was cloying. Perhaps they had recently cleaned the carpets. Also, the music in the lobby was a bit loud and intrusive, not in keeping with the elegant atmosphere.
Be advised that overnight parking will incur an extra charge. Patio tables for cocktails in warm weather overlook the King St. intersection and Metro Station.
Otherwise, the Hilton was a pleasant place to stay. We would stay there again because of the convenient location and sensible rates.
