Horrible, had to leave! A review of Red Lion Inn
We stayed here for one night in Aug, 2003. We booked this hotel online after much research. We booked a one bedroom "suite" as we were a family of four. On arrival, the small parking lot was full and we had to park our car in an alley behind the hotel. The hotel is several miles from the harbour, and the website was misleading. We checked in and went to our room. The room was small, and there was this weird L shaped credenza thing that blocked the middle of the living room. A small, 20" TV was sitting on top of it. An old air conditioner was hanging out of a hole in the wall. No air conditioning in the bedroom at all. We called the desk and the clerk told us to leave the window, (with no screen on it) open to get a breeze. I declined so he said he'd bring a fan, if he could find one, which he did but it did little to cool the room. The kids complained that the pool had so much chemicals in it they didn't even want to swim! In the morning, I opened the cupboards to make breakfast, but they were empty. I was told by the desk clerk that I should've RESERVED my dishes!!! I was incredulous!
Why would you reserve a suite with kitchen and no dishes! Then, to top it all off, I got in the shower, and the water first turned cold, the very hot, scalding me! We checked out within the hour. I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to stay elsewhere.
