Horrible Experience, but not unique! A review of Pechanga Resort and Casino
My wife and I just returned from a disastrous weekend stay at the Pechanga Hotel. We live only 90 minutes away and after having taken several day-trips to the Pechanga casino. As far as casinos goes, this one is average. We decided to spend the night for the first time last Saturday. I made my reservation two weeks earlier over the phone. I requested the Romance Package that I had read about online. This was to include champaigne and strawberries upon arrival and breakfast in bed the next day. I also requested a jacuzzi suite. The jacuzzi was the real reason we opted to stay the night. Upon arrival, all went well. We enjoyed the Grotto restaurant and had fun gambling. When we went back to our room at 10pm, our walls were vibrating from the beat of music.
After calling the front desk, we found out that our room was directly underneath the nightclub. We were told the music wouldn't stop until after 1:30am. To make a long story short, our room was eventually changed to a small studio with one queen-sized bed. Our breakfast was late the next day and thus cold because the front desk never informed the kitchen that our room had been changed. When I requested to speak with a supervisor the next day I was told that none was available. I was handed a bill and expected to pay. I have written to the management, but have yet to receive a response. My story is unfortunately not unique. We've spoken with several people that have had similar nigthmare experiences with the Pechanga hotel. As for the view described by others...the hotel is surrounded by a parking lot, with a main road on one side and barren hills on the other. I wouldn't pay more for an upper room with a view. All you'll get is a better view of the cars.
