Home Away from Home A review of Number 11 Exclusive Guesthouse
My husband and I just returned from a short trip to Bruges and Brussels. Our first night in Belgium, we stayed at Number 11 in Bruges. First, the town is as charming and quaint as any I've ever encountered. Coming "home" in the evening to Number 11 was something we looked forward to, after a long day of walking, eating, and tasting beer. We stayed in the chocolate room, which is on the top floor, and has exposed attic beams, adding to the rustic feel. The service is top-notch - the owners, Annie and Pavel are quite warm and inviting. They provide a lovely breakfast in the morning (fresh croissants, ham, cheeses, fresh fruits, breads, cereals, freshly squeezed OJ, etc.), and in the evening, the fireplace in the sitting room was on - waiting for our return. I would recommend this place over any other in Bruges, if not all of Belgium. We felt like we were staying with a friend of a friend. The bed was quite comfy, and all amenities in the room itself were luxurious - it almost felt like we were staying at a spa. It was nice to sit near the fireplace downstairs and read their guestbook - people from all over the world have found this charming little spot, and will continue to return. I have not one negative thing to say about this place (or our time in Bruges). You will not be disappointed.
