Holiday Inn Oceanfront was enjoyable A review of Holiday Inn Ocean City

We just got back from a 5 day visit to Ocean City. (July 6th-July 10th)I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews on this site regarding this hotel. However, we really enjoyed the hotel!

Husband, two granddaughters (6 and 15) and myself had a suite, 2 double beds and a pull out couch with a small kitchenette on the 4th floor facing the pool and ocean with a balcony. The view was lovely. Our suite was clean. Fresh sheets and towels everyday. Room was cleaned in a timely fashion (by 11:00).

The front desk was great and friendly. All questions answered professional and if the person didn't have a answer they found someone who did. Fresh fruit at the front desk every day. Complimentary coffee, tea and newspaper.

They have an outdoor pool and indoor pool, baby pool, sauna, hot tub, tennis courts, tanning bed, exercise room, shuffleboard, poolside bar and grill. Beach is just steps away. Plenty of towels everywhere.

Children eat free here. The food was good. The restaurant is "Reflections". We enjoyed our buffet breakfast every morning. They have a chef preparing eggs, waffles, omelets etc. (this is new since last month) They also have bacon, sausage, fruit, potatoes, oatmeal, cold ceral and pastries.

Service was good. The poolside grill was also very good. Fast service at the bar and grill.

The day we arrived the hotel was booked full. 5 minutes to check in. Bell boy was right there. Within 20 minutes of arriving we were on the beach.

The location was perfect away from the traffic near the boardwalk.

We had 2 dinners at the hotel. All very good. We ate at J&R Ribs one night and my HB and older grand daughter really enjoyed the ribs.

My favorite restaurant was "Ristorante Antipasti" on 33nd Street. The food was excellent. The service good. It was packed Saturday night but Thanks to the front desk at our hotel they recommended the restaurant and to make reservations. This rest is a little pricey but very well worth the price.

They have pasta dishes starting at 10.50. Most entrees from 18.00- 25.00.

You felt satisfied after dinner.

Tip: If you drive down town to the rides and boardwalk PARK on the bay side on the street. Plenty of parking and it's free. You walk 2 or 3 blocks but it's easy walking.

My only negative is the rooms need some updating. They get beat up from all the beach sand and pool water. But housekeeping try to keep up.

We had a great time and yes I would come back to this hotel.

Even though some of the staff was young they were very helpful when ever you needed assistance.
